Yesterday, we attended Audi Star Creation (Capsule Collection) to watch the three winners from Audi Star Creation 2012 unveil their 16-piece capsule collections on the Audi Fashion Festival runway at Tent@Marina Promenade. Actually, we were invited to attend last Monday's Audi Star Creation Competition as well but we were told of the time of the show exactly an hour before so I decided not to attend since I barely have enough time to get ready and travel there within an hour!
Anyway! Designers Roderic Wong, 28 (China), Ko Youngji, 32 (South Korea) and Soravit Kaewkamon, 24 (Thailand) have been developing their collections under the mentorship of Douglas and Odile Benjamin of leading fashion retailer F J Benjamin over the last year. The opportunity to launch their own collections following a one-year internship with the company is part of their Audi Star Creation 2012 prize, which also includes S$10,000 in cash from Audi Singapore.
Singapore's Haziq Putra who won one of the three top spots and takes the Audi Young Designer Award; the other two top spots go to China’s Sun Yi Jin and Vu Ta Linh from Vietnam also unveil their collections as well. I like the fact that you could see their design concept which flow right through, very creative but not too over the top. It was so inspiring nonetheless!
Had dinner with the girls right after the show. Then, Nish and I decided to chill at Marina Bay Sands since the night was still young and I didn't wanna head home yet. Super impromptu plan to head to Avalon though! Wanted to head to Pangaea instead but my iPhone was already dead at that point of time and I can hardly contact anyone I know (to go to Pangaea) on my Blackberry, that's why. Off to Blueprint Emporium: Asia's Defining Shopping Event later on! x
