H&M channels 60s with Lana Del Rey
The singer was shot by Dutch photography duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in a series slated to run through autumn, with a second set for winter.
True to her signature style, the ads evoke a 60s vibe with Del Rey wearing strong eye make-up and her hair back-combed, referencing muses from the decade such as Priscilla Presley, Brigitte Bardot and Ann-Margret.
The retailer will also be releasing a short film to accompany the campaign featuring Del Rey covering 50s classic Blue Velvet, originally by Bobby Vinton. The spot will be released on September 19 via the H&M website, with edited vignettes serving as TV commercials.
